Austin was the first geography for PRP, and it is keen on transferring its experience to other parts of the country. Primary initiatives for PRP-Austin are:
1 Crowdsourcing
App-based data gathering that can be used to inform public policy and drive research. After hitting critical mass through volunteer efforts, the City is now noodling into the database.
2 Schools
Supporting students in pursuing more sustainable school cafeteria outcomes. In the process, students learn life skills such as project management, sales and marketing, financial modeling, and process flow analysis
3 Circular Systems
Circular reuse for institutions interested in profitable pathways to going green for to-go orders. Sustainability for to-go is more complicated than for dine-in, but it is achievable. One system live and others planned.
