Louisville, KY

The Bring Your Own (BYO) Project makes it easy to spot cafes and shops that happily welcome your clean, reusable containers so you can enjoy your drink more sustainably while working with businesses to cut down single-use waste.
FOR BEVERAGE LOVERS:
Did you know you can skip the disposable cup and bring your own reusable cup to local coffee shops? This is a simple step you can take to reduce plastic and avoid waste. Paper coffee cups are lined with plastic, which means they cannot be recycled. Furthermore, adding hot liquids to plastic-lined paper cups can release microplastics into the body, which can lead to health risks.
In the U.S, around 108 billion disposable cups are added to landfills annually. By bringing our own cups to coffee shops, we can cut down on the number of paper cups in landfills.
Many local coffee shops provide reusable cups to use for dine-in.
The next time you visit a coffee shop in Louisville, remember to bring your own cup or, if you are dining in, opt for a ceramic or porcelain cup!

You too can be a part of the movement.
FOR BUSINESSES:
Be among the first coffee shops to join our Bring Your Own program. Simply display our window sticker to encourage customers to bring their own clean, reusable coffee cups. We will add your location to our map that is coming soon (several have already indicated that they wish to participate)!
